Must have the following in order to apply:
  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience manufacturing engineered products
  • Solidworks or similar 3D CAD experience
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME, NQA-1, AISC, and AS-9100
  • Ability to read, write, and understand spoken English; ability to read and understand product requirements and performance specifications; and ability to read and understand schematics, parts lists, test procedures, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • English communication skills and ability to interface directly with other departments within the organization
  • Professional presentation and interpersonal skills over the phone and in person
Preferred Skills:
  • Component Manufacturing and machining experience preferred.
  • Understanding of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance desired.
  • Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods desired.
  • Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology desired.

Job Description: Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods. The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense is desired.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from department heads and operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with department heads and equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Work closely with engineering on new product realization and blue print requirements.
  • Maintains process data base by writing computer programs; entering data. (NC)
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians and machinist.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Supports AS9100C internal audits.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Handling and Moving Objects -- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials and manipulating things.
  • Getting Information -- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards -- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
Work Environment: Office, machine shop. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
